Summer Holidays

We’ve lots of fun planned at this stables this summer with plenty of activities for children who are new to horse riding, like Tots’ Pony Hour, Led Hacks and Pony Hour, as well as Pony & Activities Camp which is open to all children aged 5 – 12 years.  For our current, graded riders we have 2 summer camps (now fully booked), hacking, show jumping and Prix Caprilli sessions and lots more!

Please note when booking that we do have a 12-stone weight limit for horse riding. When booking, if a session shows as “Fully Booked” please join the waiting list for that activity as we may add additional sessions to meet demand and will contact you if we do.

Activities for everyone:

Tots’ Pony Hour  

Monday 7 August 
10.00 am – 11.00 am | Age: 3 – 6 years  |  £40  

Our Tots’ Pony Hour includes a half-hour lead-rein ride and structured, fun activities on the yard, learning more about ponies and pony-care.  This pre-school activity is suitable for children aged between 3 and 6.  Groups are small and younger children can be accompanied by 2 adults (no siblings please).  Please wear wellies or boots.  

This activity is ideal for younger children who would like to try a pony ride and meet our friendly ponies.

Led Hack (Pony Ride)

Monday 31 July, 14 & 28 August: 10 am – 10.45 am | Age 3 – 10 years | £30
Friday 4 August: 2.30 pm – 3.15 pm | Age 3 -10 years | £30

Meet our friendly ponies and join us for a gentle 30-minute Led Hack around the perimeter of the Equestrian Centre. This activity is suitable for beginners and parents are welcome to join us for the walk.  

Pony Hour 

Monday 24 July: 9.30 am – 10.30 am | Age 4 – 12 years | £35

Monday 31 July, 14 & 28 August: 11.00 am – 12.00 pm | Age: 4 – 12 years | £35

In this fun session children spend half an hour riding and half an hour getting hands-on on the yard learning more about ponies and pony-care.  This is a great opportunity for children to have fun outside, learn new skills and gain confidence around horses.  Children may be accompanied by a maximum of 2 adults (no siblings please) or can be left for the session. 

This activity is ideal for beginners.

Pony & Activities Camp 

Tuesday: 1, 8, 15 & 29 August: 9.30 am – 3.30 pm | Age: 5 – 12 years | £55
Wednesday: 2, 9, 16 & 30 August: 9.30 am – 3.30 pm | Age: 5 – 12 years | £55 

Join us for a Holiday Club with a difference! 

Children will have a full, fun-packed day at the Equestrian Centre – with a range of activities to get them active and making friends.  They’ll also be getting very hands-on with our friendly ponies, learning about grooming, feeding and mucking out, as well as enjoying a pony ride and decorating the ponies with chalks and accessories! 

This activity is suitable for children who have never ridden as well as children who can already ride.

Hacking
Teen Hack

Friday 4 & 25 August: 11 am – 11.45 am | Age 12 and over | L2 (Outdoor) – L4 | £35

We’ll be heading out for a 45-minute gentle hack (walk and trot only), exploring the local countryside and practicing the skills we have learned in the school.  This hack is open to our regular riders who are aged 12 and over and graded L2 (Outdoor) – L4.

L4/L5 Hack

Monday 24 July: 2.30 pm – 3.30 pm | L4 – L5 | £35
Friday 4 August: 3.30 pm – 4.30 pm | L4 – L5 | £35 

We’ll be heading out on an hour’s hack which will include walk, trot and possibly canter (ground and weather permitting).  This hack is open to riders who already have regular lessons with us and are graded L4 and over. 

L6 Hack

We’ll be heading out on an hour’s hack which will include walk, trot and probably canter (ground and weather permitting).  This hack is open to riders who already have regular lessons with us and are graded L6 and over. 

Prix Caprilli
Dressage with Poles

Thursday 3 August: 9.30 am – 10.30 am | L3 (Indoor) | £35 

In this lesson, riders will be practicing riding dressage with poles, working on steering, impulsion and transitions.

Dressage with Jumps

Thursday 3 August: 9.30 am – 11 am | L3 (Outdoor) | £42 

In this session we will be practicing Prix Caprilli skills – focussing on accuracy, impulsion and transitions on the flat and over small jumps, with a competition and rosettes at the end.

Dressage with Jumps

Thursday 3 August: 11 am – 12.30 pm | L4 – L6 | £42 

Riders will be working on Prix Caprilli in this session, warming up and practicing their tests (including jumps), followed by a competition with rosettes awarded.

Show Jumping
Pole Work

Thursday 10 August:  10 am – 10.45 am | L2 | £35

We’ll be working on steering and accuracy over trotting-poles to prepare riders for moving on to jumping.

Introduction to Jumping (Pole Work)

Thursday 10 August: 11 am – 12 pm | L3 (Indoor) | £40

We’ll be practicing the basics of jumping, working on steering, impulsion and accuracy over poles.

L3 (Outdoor) Show Jumping

Thursday 10 August: 10 am – 11 am | L3 (Outdoor) | £42

A fun session with a chance for riders to practice before taking part in a fun jumping competition with rosettes.

L4 Show Jumping

Friday 11 August: 2 pm – 3 pm | £42 

A fun jumping session for our L4 and L5 riders, with a short practice/warm up followed by a show jumping competition with rosettes.

L5/L6 Show Jumping

Friday 11 August: 3 pm – 4 pm | £42 

A fun jumping session for our L5 and above riders, with a short practice/warm up followed by a show jumping competition with rosettes.

Private Lesson Day

We have a whole day of Private Lessons on Friday 18 August and also on the morniing of Friday 11 August – these lessons are only for riders who are already having lessons with us.

Important Information:

Please observe our Site Rules:

  • Please do not come onto site if you feel unwell.
  • Children should wear closed-toe shoes or boots as our stable yard has uneven and muddy surfaces
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before your booking slot to enable hat fitting etc.
  • Please ensure pony tails are low (for hat fitting) and we would recommend earrings and jewellery are removed for safety
  • Children must wear trousers e.g. leggings, joggers or jodhpurs for comfort when riding.  Children wearing shorts or skirts will not be allowed to ride.
  • We have a strict 12 stone weight limit – please be aware of this if booking activities for older teens.
  • If the weather is likely to be wet, please bring a waterproof coat, gloves are also a good idea if it is cold.

How to book:

To book activities please use our online booking system EC Pro.  Please note that in order to use the system you first need to register your details. 
Here’s what you need to do:

1. Visit https://ride-high.ecpro.co.uk/

2. Register by completing your account details

3. Verify your email by clicking the automated link sent to you by email (check your spam if you don’t receive instantly)

4. Login with your email and password details

5. Add riders to your account by following the instructions to click on the link to rider registration

6. Rider Registration must be completed with up-to-date details of each rider (including height and weight) so we can provide the most suitable pony

7. Submit your rider registration details by clicking the submit button

8. You can add more riders under the same account if you need to.

Once you have registered you can then download the EC Pro app from your app store or access EC Pro via your web browser. Just search EC Pro and then log in with your email address and password.
You can find Holiday Activities in EC Pro under: book a lesson>group lesson> then look up the date the activity is on to view and book it. 

Cancellation:
We ask for 48 hours notice for a cancellation. Otherwise the full fee will be payable.
