May School Holidays
Why not come outside and join us for some pony themed fun this May Half Term break?
We've lots of activities for children who would like to try horse riding, including Pony Hour and Led Hacks, as well as sessions like show jumping and our Fun Day, for children who can already ride. You can view our full schedule here.
Monday 30 May: 10.00 am – 10.30 am | 10.45 am – 11.15 am
Thursday 2 June: 11.00 am – 11.30 am
Children can meet our friendly ponies and join us for a gentle Led Hack (led pony ride) around the perimeter of the Equestrian Centre. This hack is suitable for beginners and lasts about 30 minutes. Parents are welcome to accompany us on foot.
Walk, Trot Hack: Existing L3 (outdoor) and above clients only | £35
Thursday 2 June: 10.00 am – 11.00 am
Join us for a gentle hack exploring the local countryside.
This hack is open to riders who already have regular lessons with us and are graded L3 (outdoor) and above.
We'll be heading out on an hour’s hack which will include walk, trot and possibly canter (ground and weather permitting). These hacks are open to riders who already have regular lessons with us.
Hack for Adults: Age: 16+ | L5 and above | £40
Friday 3 June: 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm
Join us for a hack exploring the local countryside! This hack is for adults only and will include walk, trot and canter (ground and weather permitting). Level 5 and above: Riders who are not currently registered with us will need to complete an assessment before joining this hack.

Ride & Care: Existing L1 & L2 clients only | £50
Monday 30 May: 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm
An opportunity for our regular L1 and L2 riders to get more hands-on: Children will help prepare their pony for a riding lesson, have a 45-minute ride and then help to care for the ponies after they are ridden. This is a great way to gain experience and learn more about tacking up and untacking, improving your skills and knowledge, as well as enjoying a riding lesson
Pony Afternoon: Age: 5 years and above | £50
Tuesday 31 May: 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm
Children will join the Ride High ponies for a 30-minute ride and spend time with our team on the yard for a hands-on session learning more about ponies and how we care for them. Parents must leave children for this activity and will not be able to stay on site. This activity is suitable for beginners and existing riders as groups will be split by ability for the ridden session.
Children will help prepare their pony for a riding lesson, have a 45-minute ride and then help to care for the ponies after they are ridden. This is an excellent way to gain experience and learn more about tacking up and untacking, improving general skills and knowledge, as well as enjoying a riding lesson. Children will also take part in fun, ridden gymkhana games in a second ridden session.
Pony Hour: Age: 5 – 14 years | £35
Tuesday 31 May: 10.00 am - 11.00 am | Thursday 2 June: 2.30 pm – 3.30 pm
In our Pony Hour children will spend half an hour riding and half an hour on the yard learning more about ponies and pony-care. This is a great opportunity for children to have fun outside, learn new skills and gain confidence around horses. Children may only be accompanied by a maximum of two adults (no siblings please) or can be left for the session. This activity is ideal for beginners.
Friday 3 June: L3: 10.00 am – 11.00 am | L4: 11.15 am – 12.15 pm | L5: 1.30 pm – 2.30 pm | L6: 2.30 pm – 3.30 pm
Current graded clients can join us for a fun show jumping competition with rosettes – body protectors are essential for these sessions!

- Please wear sensible shoes or boots as our stable yard has uneven and muddy surfaces
- Please arrive 10 minutes before your booking slot to enable hat fitting etc.
- Please ensure pony tails are low (for hat fitting) and we would recommend earrings and jewellery are removed for safety
- Children should wear trousers e.g. leggings, joggers or jodhpurs for comfort when riding
- We have a strict 12 stone weight limit - please be aware of this if booking activities for older teens.
