The Ride High Equestrian Centre has 37 acres of green space, ideal for community groups looking to get outside! We’d love to welcome your group on-site to enjoy a day bursting with outdoor activity, fun and friendship...
How it works
Children will be in groups of 6 or 7 and will rotate between activities during the day, followed by a whole group fun event to finish off the day.
We suggest selecting three different activities, two will take place in the morning and one in the afternoon, followed by the whole group event.
Children will leave the centre feeling tired and happy, having developed some new skills. A full, fun packed day – much of the time spent outside in our vast outdoor space. Self-confidence, peer working and wellness will be enhanced as a result of the experiences of the children attending our activity days.
Covid-19 considerations: All activities are outside or in covered environments
(with open ventilation around our indoor arena)
Activities to choose from:
Orienteering/ Team-based Treasure Hunts
These can be themed if required and can be adapted to meet the needs/ages of each group.
Peer Skills Sessions
including activities such as The Blindfold Obstacle Challenge, Crossing the ‘River’, Floating Stick, Building the Tower.
These activities are fun, but also help children develop peer working skills and enhance their communication skills.
Gardening
Our garden offers a tranquil area where participants can spend time, weeding, planting and watering, enjoying this outdoor space.
Caring for Horses on the Yard
Get involved cleaning stables and preparing feeds. Learn what goes on behind the scenes on a busy yard, taking care of horses.
Den Building
We have acres of space for children to run around, hunt for the perfect den building materials and then make their dens
Nature Walk
Enjoy a gentle stroll around the site, gathering items from nature to make a craft piece to take home. Ideas include decorating bird boxes, nature weaving etc.
Craft Activity
Paint and decorate a real horse shoe to take home as a memento

A popular choice: We fit the children with hats and boots, then it’s off out for a gentle, relaxing hack.
All ponies are led by a leader, so no previous horsemanship skills are required. A relaxing and exhilarating experience rolled into one!
